Author Topic: Dedicated Server - Recommended specs?  (Read 589 times)

Hi folks,

Got hooked on this great game a few weeks ago.

I've got several servers running out some US Central datacenters, and wanted to put a dedicated server online for Wreckfest.

I've done some googling and checked out the sites for the game but there's no specific recommended hardware specs for a dedicated server that i can find.

Short of trialing it out on different specs to start with and increasing where needed - does anyone know from experience any recommended specs based on a 24 player server?

Sam is right, need a CPU with beefy single thread speed.

Ran a server on a FX-6300 6 core that could go up to about 22 cars before lagging. Have calculated, but not yet tested, that will need something along the lines of an i5-3470 or higher to run a 24 car server.

Couple servers that have handled well 24 players have been some decent Intel i5/i7 ~3.4GHz.

Thanks guys,

I've got dual Xeon E5 2673 v4's right now (virtual) - I've put the server online, got logging enabled to keep an eye on it if it gets under load.

If any of you want a server to mess about on, gimmie a shout i'll assign you as admin.
