Hi,

Great game but I've been pulling my hair out trying to get this damn port forwarding to work so I can create a multiplayer server.

This is what I currently have and it's still not working :(

Any ideas?

Thank you.

I also know it's not working, because I have two PC's, A) PC is connected through wireless, B) PC is connected through Ethernet. I'm hosting it on B) PC and using it's IPv4 address (192.168.0.109) and A) PC still can't find B) PC's created multiplayer game.

FIXED IT! YES!

Added another port 33500 and it worked..... mate, talk about frustrating, really would improve the game if we didn't have to worry about this port forwarding nonsense.

There no getting around port forwarding if doing dedicated server.

SETTING UP A SERVER

If not dedicated server, then Bugbear have contract out to a gaming server that all players go through to fine hosts online. Flatout 2 used GameSpy and after 6 years, online server for Flatout 2 was turned off. But that was longer than Codemasters online server for GRID 1, online was turned off after only 3 years!!!  >:(

With players providing the online servers, we will be racing Wreckest online for the next 10-20 years, if Steam still around.   :P
Flatout Joint, where the mods were.

Thank you so much Purple44 for this link -

Setting Up a Server - https://steamcommunity.com/app/228380/discussions/0/613938693082657261/

Now that I have the ports sorted AND I can create my own dedicated server, this is fantastic! I wish these instructions were easier to find!

Only thing I'm stuck on now is the track rotation, in the 'sever_config' file, I've got "Add first event to Loop" etc, but what happens when I get to the 20's? twentyfirst/twenty first/ twenty-first? I've got 32 in the rotation and just need the right text.

Thanks again, much appreciated :)

That's excellent, we just need better/easier instructions. :)

Don't worry about this, fixed it here - http://community.bugbeargames.com/index.php/topic,7798.90.html

Thanks again :)

NOTE: Just in case the images to my earlier post links don't work, I used ports:
TCP/UDP: 27015-27016
TCP/UDP: 33500
UDP: 33540

Also used 'cmd' and typed 'ipconfig' to get the correct IPv4 address to go with, and that IPv4 address changes every so often (never happened while playing) on the PC requiring update to the port forwarding on the router, maybe later I'll try setting up a static IP Address.
