Of course we're not going to tell you yet, but I'm going to throw a couple of hints and let's see how close you can get...

There's a couple of things that have been doing the rounds in the office for years now, and it's about time we acted on some of them. Should we go back to Flatout? Should we go even further, all the way back to Rally Trophy? What would it be like?

And of course we're thinking about new stuff. We did the editor for Ridge Racer Unbounded, and it would be cool to see what we could do with that, taking the user generated content further.

Then there's a bunch of great car scenarios that haven't really been done in games, seen in movies and TV shows... which ones are your favorites that you'd love to see in games?

Flatout 4 please! Flatout 3 sucked because it was not made by Bugbear. And Flatout 1 was my first console game and one reason why I bought PS2! Flatout 1, ohh really good times.

Flatout 2 went bit more arcade direction and I didn't like it so much.

Flatout 4 should be more like the first game.

Flatout is still my favorite racegame ever. That feeling you got from wrestling a beat-down car through muddy corners while bumping an opponent into a tree was just fantastic. I was really happy to see that RRU inherited a lot of the Flatout magic, but the thing I missed most are the dirt tracks.

I would be so happy if Bugbear were to regain the Flatout franchise, but I wouldn't mind if you guys were just making a spiritual successor. As long as it's raw and dirty I'm game.

If we do go back to FlatOut, it would likely be all about the original experience. It's the one we like the best! So sand pits and dirt and physical driving.

Wow, that's what I like to hear!

FlatOut spiritual successor is best idea. More destructible enviroment and better destruction model than FO: UC.  More races out of city (better all), good old crapy cars  ;D
If someone say: Bugbear, i say: Destruction and crazy racing! So do what you do best with more tunning options and minigames. And on PC and next gen consoles of course, because this gen is very limited. DIRT: Showdown lies at the feet of the original FO, cheap game  ;)
Another reason - look at games these days, polished graphics (sometimes), but awful physics and ai. If you focus on physics and ai, it is your advantage. And modding tools for all platforms - on PC sure, but on consoles is more MS,Sony dependent.  :)

I'd like more trucks! I was really excited when I saw that FO3 included monster trucks (I'm such a sucker for monster trucks!!) but it was sad to see the game wasn't by Bugbear.

Whether it's monster trucks or big, hefty pickups.. I like that raw power / energy racing.

WRC has rally covered (since Dirt went all silly a few versions ago) but I'd always welcome some retro-rally action with some of the exciting stuff from the Group B days of rally or more classic cars like the Volvos, Beetles or Ford Escorts of yesteryear...

Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll ROCK!

YYYYEEEEAAAAH!!!! FLATOUT! FLATOUT!!!
ANd, please, call it "FlatOut: The Return". I think that's the best way to show: "yeah, it's returns, get ready to destroy!"
THANK YOU,  BUGBEAR!

Hey all  :)

Delighted to know about the Mystery Project  :D

First of all, a new Flatout would be music to my ears, when I think of the new awesome track creator applied to FlatOut it would be insane really! Secondly, I can't help but wishing even more for a rally game. In my personal opinion, the current rally games are disappointing (especially WRC), but then again it would depend on whether a Bugbear rally game would be realistic or downright arcade speedneess  ;D

And yeah Joonas, in your opening message to talked about cars in movies or tv shows. I think there is a spot left for a game like "death race". To some extent, Blur came close but it had "funny" weapons. Proper weapons and upgrades like strengthening your car but increasing its weight (and other possibilities) and thus lowering its performance would be great, if done right  :)

Looking forward to the Mystery Project regardless  8)

Can you make 20 AI drivers? It's boring sometimes driving with 12 AI because of "alone leader". 6 of them you are wrecking on the first lap and then you alone almost all the race.

Also Stainless is making a new Carmageddon called Carmageddon: Reincarnation. So I think "death race" PC game is covered already. No weapons please, if there going to be a new Flatout.

Stainless use Kickstarter to raise funds to finish Carmageddon: Reincarnation. Check out this link if you want to be a beta tester or be in the game ( $$ ). You got 7 days left.

Maybe Bugbear might think about using Kickstarter to help buy back the Flatout license from Strategy First if BugBear decide to go with making a new Flatout.

Flatout Joint, where the mods were.

By the way, what about updating old FlatOuts? You know, make 1 new car in 3 months or something like that? Is it real?
