Why not do some work on the handling so its not a total POS while using the new cars and tracks

While I am a little disappointed that the handling model won't be perfected straight away I think it is probably a good idea. No point perfecting a driving model and then changing it repeatedly because it is not working with the new features/physics. Just get it right at the end and I will make do till then.

Thanks for the update guys!

- Playtesting online functionality. It does work, but it's not perfect yet. At least it's there, so all that remains is tweaking and honing. Yay!

And there no Don'ts from the Multiplayer Do's and Don'ts thread and plenty of Do's?

Bugbear will make a lot of people happy if online multiplayer in the next Build, warts and all.  :)

Thanks for the update!  It's nice to know what's going on, and as a side benefit I learned something about European labor practices.

Keep up the good work.  I look forward to see what's happening in week 36!

and from this box, salaries and holidays are paid

You get paid holidays?

You're American, aren't you? ;) That's the only country in the 'western world' that does not have mandatory paid vacation for full time employees - not even stat holidays. In Canada, we have minimum 2 weeks paid vacation, plus mandatory stat holidays. In Europe they have more. Brazil has 41 full paid vacation days (including stat holidays?). France has 30, not including holidays.

Jori - by mandatory, does that mean that employees must take the time off, or just that the employer must offer it? In Canada we must have 2 weeks (10 days) at a minimum paid vacation time, but we aren't required to take the time off if we don't want to - the employer is just required to offer it. Any time not taken off gets paid back to us at the end of the year.

Holidays in different countries VERY OT... But interesting topic nontheless! :D

In Germany we have a minimum of 4 weeks. Not including national and state holidays. Many people have more. I have 6 weeks.

AND you don't use those days for sick leave. If you're sick you're sick and you get paid anyway.

And here you HAVE TO take them. Its not enough for the employer to offer them. It is the employers responsibility to make sure all employees take them :D

Its incredible how bad the US's social system is. And people who try to change it are called "socialists"... ^^

Not only the 4 weeks of paid vacation is mandatory, they must be used within a timeframe from spring to autumn (can't remember exact months but something like May to October). Sick leave doesn't spend your vacation days here either but on vacation saturdays are counted as days that consume your vacation days. We actually get 30 days of vacation/year so we use 24 days (4 weeks) in the summer and 6 days for winter holiday usually after christmas and over the new year's.

As for going on holidays... I'll try to explain why it's no big deal. When you buy a ready game from the store, you're giving the studio your money. The studio will use that money to create a cash box for the next project, and from this box, salaries and holidays are paid. It doesn't matter when you purchase the game, as the end result is still the same: your money is the thing that lets the studio maintain its very basic needs, i.e. its employees.
But, for argument's sake, let's assume that things were different because this is an early access game, and we're very literally using the supporters' money to go on vacation. Well, in Finland, vacations are mandated by law, so even if we didn't want to go on vacations (we do, because vacations are awesome!), we would have to go, or the studio would face some very heavy judicial ramifications.
So, going on vacation on the end users' moneys is a very normal thing, and there's nothing to worry about. Hell, that's how all businesses work -- they gain money from their end users, and go from there. The only difference here is that we're open about it :)

I need to look into moving to Finland.  Too bad I only speak American.  Oh wait, I already get 30 days a year from my employer.  Nevermind.

If you are planning on moving to Finland, please note that our "summer" lasts only 6-8 weeks :) It was 15°C (59°F) in June, then 30°C (86°F) throughout July and now it's back to 15°C (59°F).  :'(

Boy, I wish we had those temperatures once in a while.

In Spain, (if you have a job, d'oh) you have to take your holidays. And like in other places, you have to take them during a timeframe. I don't remember exactly the numbers, basically, you can do the 5 days of the week + the weekend + 5 days more and that's it, then you have to take a day off. You cannot do more than two weekends in a row.

LOL Tero, that gif is perfect.

On the topic of mandatory holidays, I have a friend that works in a call center, and if it weren't for the fact that he had to use up his weeks of mandatory paid leave, he'd work there every day, all day. He loves the people there and the fun conversations that just happen to come up over the phone. ;D

So that's how Germany lost the war.

Can't say I'm sad about that! :D
