Manual patch for those having the 'drivers are not up to date' issue

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7bnNNRXVCZjAwNW8/

Replace patch.bin with the one inside your install directory.\Program Files (x86)\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat

--------------------

Reposting this from ovalchat as i think some might be interested.Contributed quite a bit myself to this update :

Was only expecting this to be a small Update, mainly to improve Micro wheels for Civil War, but it turned out me and Tim had a fair bit of modern stuff that we'd neglected whilst finishing tin off for the last Update, so this has turned out to be a pretty good one!
Some long overdue cars in this, and some pretty sporty Unlim stuff, so it'll be interesting to see how the online scene changes with them.

Installation of this Update is compulsory if you want to race online from tomorrow (MNR Monday 26th), and highly recommended if you just race offline. To keep it short, if you don’t have it installed, you’ll have no end of problems.

***Download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7MHdVYmNJSEdfS1U/
(291mb)
It’s been decided all Update’s from now on will include the previous ones inside it, hence the file being named ‘1-6’. This helps prevent cheat messages, and it’s easier and quicker to install from scratch this way too.

If you’re doing a complete fresh install, it’s now easier than ever with just 2 files to install, in order:
OnlineBangers Part 1: (includes essentials, 1.72e patch, and anything not touched by updates)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7S0w0NzRCd2Q3c1E/
Then OnlineBangers Updates 1-6:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7MHdVYmNJSEdfS1U/

Pre-installed Skinpacks:
After installing this Update, you should have a special 'Update 6' pack installed, featuring real driver skins for the new cars.
Moza's 2 Unlimited offline skinpacks are also in there too, just swap to the packs in the usual way.

New cars:
Much more of a 'modern' theme to this Update than in any previous one, but there's stil a few cool bits of tin in amongst the cars to keep everyone happy.
Templates:
You can download the templates individually, or get the 'Update 6 Template Pack' .zip for all of them here
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7ejY1LTF6WGx6bE0&usp=sharing

Mazda 323 Estate - 323E.car
Not exactly something everyone's been waiting for, but never the less it's another Unders car.
Old model by Scott Parry, re-sorted by Timmy; jacks up interestingly.

New Mk3 Cortina's - Mk3TinaS.car and Mk3TinaSB.car
Timmy's done a conversion of 'SCGT4Ever's ' Mk3 Cortina model, and they do look cool.
There are 2 different versions which both damage differently!

Nissan Almera - Almera.car
Timmy's finished off the Almera, and it's a cool model. Doesn't excite me in particular, but I know a lot of people wanted them, and they're used often in real life, so it's a welcome addition to the Unders class.

Nissan Prairie - Prairie.car
DWO Brett! Don't see many Prairies being raced anymore, but when Mick Gedney got behind the wheel of one, you knew chaos would ensue!
This was Timmy's first car in 3dsMax and it's been sat on the shelf for a good while, but it's been finished off for Update6.

New Mk2 Granada Limo - Gran2L.car
Old one always looked pretty abysmal, so Timmy's got to work and fixed us up a new one. It's on Sam's seriously cool new physics, so drifts a treat as well.

Lexus Soarer - Soarer.car
No doubt this'll be a popular car, Timmy's made a Lexus/Toyota Soarer. They're a semi-common sight on tracks now, so it's a very cool addition to the game.

New Mk3 Supra's - Supra2.car and Supra2U.car
Timmy's done an updated model of the Supra, and they do look miles better.
I've done the damage for them both, and they actually bend like Supras!
They don't overwrite the current Supras since I'm not keen on doing that anymore, and it'd be a pain with people already having cars painted etc.

Mk4 Supra - Mk4Supra.car
Thought these were pig ugly when AceAsh raced the first one of these back in 2009 with the bumpers on, but I reckon they look the tits without them. Awesome looking examples coming from Spooky and Bro at World Final's.

Mk1 Toyota Crown Hearse - Mk1CrownH.car
Would've been rude not to! Just 2 of these have been raced, one by Steve Reynolds at Ringwood in the early 2000's, and ofcourse we saw Little Stevo turn out his at Ringwood last December.
Pretty quick for a hearse, and you can actually see over them, bonus!

Mk10 Thunderbird - Thunder.car
These quick sporty looking cars are fairly commonly used on the continent, most that have been raced have either pulled off a collosal hit, or ended up a big mess!

Volvo 240 Saloon - 240.car
It's about time! Based off Ernie snr's 264, this saloon is actually banger prep'd, with square cut wings and a folded up bumper.
Pretty speedy and certainly packs a punch too.

W140 Limo - W140L.car
Limo conversion of the popular modern Merc. Don't think any have been raced yet, but I expect it's only a matter of time, looks a beast.

Scorpio Estate without grille - ScorpoeB.car
Tried to get rid of the grille ages ago, but it just wouldn't work - managed it this time though!
Works on the current template, just add a 'b' on the end of the current chassis name.
Back end should no longer dissapear on this version, and there are a couple of other adjustments too.

Wheels:
Loads of new wheels again, which have also taken a largely modern stance.
Won't list them all as they're all on the image, but to quickly run through there's black Volvo alloys and steels, tonnes of Merc wheels, plenty of new and updated Mondeo/Cougar wheels, Previa, Mk10 Thunderbird wheels, decent Lexus alloys, steelwhites, and plenty of others.
The old Pugs and Saxo wheels have gone back in as they looked pretty terrible on low profile.
Rimstag, NewBlack and Mambr have all been modified to give them a better look, the latter having a few variants.
From inside car files I've added the old 3d Scorp wheels, plus trana, tran, birim and pierim as well; all have had their shineyness removed.

Physics and other:
Incar views fixed:
BluebirdS, BuickL, Mk10Jag, Mond1E, TaunusC, Silvers2 and Silvers2B.
Thanks to Dode for doing most of them and telling me about the other issues.
Wheels improved on:
All Scorpios
All Mondeos
Both KA's
Both Micra's
Mk1CrownE
Mk5Cortina
Mapping fixes on:
Both Ford KA's (boot)
W140 (cornerplates)
Sunny94 (bonnet)
66Bonne (bonnet)
Misc:
Steering wheel added to the Mk4Cortina
CortinaE's steering wheel fixed
Gran1E's steering wheel fixed
RWD diff removed from Micra's!
Both 73Chevy's aren't so sluggish now
Sam's stuff:
Sam's been busy and has improved on some features which have remained untouched for quite some time:
Tyre squeal sound effect has been updated.
The smoke, dust and spark effects have been improved (look great with graphics turned up).
The car shadows been updated, it's a lot less blocky now.
Silver Cloud now has a 'Race Video' sticker inplace of the 'FBF Prep' sticker on the side.
In the last update there were a few yanks with weight distribution changes. More cars have been done in this one:
71FleetwL, 250daim, AdmiralH, Magestic Hearse and Limo, Cress, Crestapc, CrownH, DS420 Hearse and Limo, FleetwoodL, FuryH, Gran3H, GranIIL, GranIIs2dr, JagMk2, KapitanH, Merc600, Minster, Omega estate and saloon, SD1, SilverC, SnipeH, Volvo 240 Hearse and Limo, Vole740L, Windsor, XJ6SI, XJS, plus selected new cars.

What's next?
Hoping to get a new track out within the next few weeks. Made a start on Emmen, Snakie recently got me some track pics, so that's in progress.
Car wise, would like to get more new Mercs in (W210's), maybe some modern Jags, Lexus IS200....that'd finish the essentials for the Unlimited class off for a while I reckon.
Mk3 Mondeos would be cool for 2Litres, but FWD is boring, so we'll see!

That's about it for now, so to round this off, as always, a big thanks goes out to everyone who's got involved and helped.
Timmy for his new cars and help along the way, Sam for physics, and updated effects, Dode for incar stuff and template help, Dippy for website management, Tytey for pictures and wheels, Snakie and Affro for pictures, Toward for his constantly useful stats data base, Karl for testing and paint, Moza and co for the Skinpacks, and anyone else who's alerted me of issues or given suggestions etc, always appreciated.

I can't stress how useful good pictures of cars and tracks are, so if anyone's got the time to take those, let me know, as they're immensely helpful.

Enjoy!
Mark

Okay, it's going to be hard to make the days since I was just recalled to work again, and therefore generally won't be available until the evening. (8pm is 2pm here). But hopefully we get done early a couple days so I can fill in

Ye its a full conversion mod, using the free nascar heat essentials base game (no need to own nascar heat). Theres been a few different mods other the years, mainly league specific. A couple of years back all these mods were merged into one (online bangers) to allow players to freely switch between leagues without having multiple downloads. Helping prevent cheat messages aswell, where people would use the wrong mod for the wrong league etc etc.

Theres has then been 6 updates on the merged mod so far, adding more cars, improving graphics and physics etc. With periodic new track releases between. Plans for the 7th update later this year are already starting in discussion form.

New track,Armadale

Quote
A tight, long, post and wire track is something that's been mentioned over the years as something we'd like in Heat; Armadale just about fits that description. Based in Scotland, the track ran from 1971 to 1991, but got shortened and converted to a speedway track, which is still there.
I started making it 2 years ago tomorow, which is a nice coincidence I've just noticed.
At the time I hadn't learnt how to detail tracks as much as I have recently on Lochgelly and Skegness, so it's a little rough around the edges.
I've used a bit of artistic freedom on it as pictures and video of the track are limited, but it's still of a decent quality.

As with all tracks I'm involved with, the infield's been blocked off. If you find yourself stuck inside the infield tyres, just head to the grass and you'll get reset. Tyre lines by the figure of 8 openings indicate the oppo zone.
Also, the kerb doesn't act like a kerb - as it originally messed your car up like the one at Belle Vue does, so instead the track just transitions to the dirt without any kerb bump, not really noticable, but thought I'd mention it.
In regards to RX lap times, they're quite long, possibly due to the amount of braking required for the corners. Best I've done is 17.4, but I'm sure you'd be able to get quicker with a properly done setup.
Thanks to Dode for helping with info at various points, Affro for a little testing the other night, and Frank Love for the menu screen.

Track name ingame is ArmadaleRX.
Make sure it's installing into your Run folder in the correct Program Files.
Download the RX track here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7b1k0RE11T0NoSDg/
Or download a 3 pack of the R, RX and anticlockwise versions here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7bjVYSEQ4bE5KM0k/

First meeting:
TNB will be running their Unlimited season opener here on Thursday 5th February.
More info and booking's here : https://www.facebook.com/groups/OnlineBangers/

Will probably release a Figure of 8 version later in the year.
Enjoy,
Mark

New Track

Figure of 8 version of the savage Armadale track. Feels really good to drive round, very different from the other Figure of 8 tracks we have, fairly bumpy over the dirt infield!

Download the 8X track here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7R0R0OHl2V2Z1a3c/
Or download a 2 pack of the track with 'R' grip version: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7OVByWWZNZWV4YVU/

    First meeting:

Update 7 is now ready for download. The modern theme continues as we update the game to reflect Bangers of today, though there are still plenty of oddities in there too to keep things interesting.
Installation of this Update is compulsory if you want to race online from tomorrow (MNR Monday 27th), and highly recommended if you just race offline.

    ***Download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7dmhzSGEySTAzSk0/

    Then OnlineBangers Updates 1-7:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dc9XzP3SQ7dmhzSGEySTAzSk0/

    Update 7 Skinpack:
Since it was popular last time, after installing this Update, you should have a special 'Update 7' pack installed, featuring real driver skins for the new cars.

    Templates:
You can download the templates individually, or get the 'Update 7 Template Pack' .zip for all of them here:

New cars:
Winnebago RV - Winnebago.car
We haven't had a new 'van' for a while, but Timmy's produced this monster. It's complete with full cage around drivers area, and the body work falls off a treat.

Ford Mk1 Mondeo Estate Used - Mond1EU.car
Estate's certainly look better pulled out and bent upwards! First used Mondeo we've got ingame, might have to do some more.

Ford Mk3 Cortina 2dr - Mk3Tin2dr.car
The new Mk3 Cortinas were popular last update. Timmy's sorted out a cool rarer 2 door version for us.

Ford Mk3 Mondeo Hatch - Mond3Ha.car
One that's been requested for a while given that more and more are being raced now. Don't get too many new FWD cars in Heat, so hopefully this will please the FWD lovers!

Ford Mk3 Mondeo Estate - Mond3E.car
An estate version of the Mk3 Mondeo, tough bangers and we're seeing more of these gracing the oval lately too.

Mercedes W123 - W123.car
Made this for the car making tutorial but never bothered putting it ingame. Not amazing, but I suppose it shows how much the modelling side has improved in the past couple of years!

Opel Manta - Manta.car and MantaD.car
Also known as the Cavalier Coupe, Timmy brings us some rated Euro bilge, converted from 'H-Man's model. There's both an LHD and RHD version, which is an odd first for OnlineBangers!

Rover 216 - 216.car
A car originally made by Scott Parry years ago, but never completed, has been revamped and brought back to life by Timmy. It's another car that's been requested a lot, so hopefully it'll please a few!

Triumph Mayflower - Mayflower.car
Real material! Not been a huge amount raced, Marcys had a couple in recent memory, been a couple at Standlake, a quadruplet at Mendips, Grumpy, Retard and Keefy have all had ones too. Bound to be a little fun alternative Pre70.

Volvo 144 - 144.car and 144B.car
Timmy's done another cool conversion from 'SCGT4Ever's models with some Swedish tin. 2 versions, with and without grilles.

Lexus IS200
- IS200.car
Not a huge amount have been raced, but we all saw how rapid Gouldy's was at last years World Final....until it met a Glads Lincoln Limo. Although some have been raced in 2Litres, this one ingame is Unlimited; it'll also fit into the Nationals class too. Speedy and nimble little car, but certainly not one to take wrecking.

Mercedes W210 - W210.car
A Merc we're starting to see more of lately, these bugeyed cars have proved decent tools for wrecking. Really strong on the front and very quick too.

Mercedes W210 Estate
- W210E.car
An estate version of the W210, definitley cooler than the saloon. Pretty pleased with how these damage, so make sure you give them a good lengthing!

Nissan Patrol - PatrolN.car
And finally, we have this beast. It's the first car Kizzy's made, and I reckon it's great for a first model. It's RWD ingame, and damages brilliantly! Always good to see others contributing to the game.

Base Setups:Following on from the recent setup guide, I've decided to include a base setup for FWD and RWD.
They work well with most cars at most tracks and certainly get you round, ideal for new drivers, but things like gearing would need to be adjusted to be properly competitive with them online.
You can load them up in Garage, by holding Shift and pressing Load.

Wheels, Physics and other:For the past 2 updates we've had quite a lot of new wheels, so only done few for this one. New wheel additions are:is, isb, mk3rim, mk3rimb, mk3s, mk3sb

Incar views on the 240, Micra, Micra2dr and Trabant, are all fixed. 323E has been positioned better. Almera and Prairie weight distributions have been corrected. We've been trialling weight distribution changes in the past couple of updates and we've had positive responses as to how well the cars affected now drive.Biting the bullet a little, but Granadas, Jags, Lexus, Crowns, Cedrics, Volvos, Rollers, Supras and Mercs now join the Omegas and selected others on the new weight distribution system. They should feel slightly more weighty, but they do the same lap times/have the same strengths/shake about less/have a faster AI etc, same as the ones done in previous updates.

    What's next?
Various tracks are in progress as always. We've focussed on cars a lot lately so I'd like to get some new tracks out in the Summer that have been sat on my harddrive for way too long. Got a track making guide close to completion, so the hope is that Timmy can join in with making tracks in the future too.
Car wise, now the IS200, Mercs and Mk3Mondeos are done, the next main goal is to get some new Jags done, as that would really complete the main Unlimited class for a while.

Thanks to everyone who's helped out or gave input for this Update.
Timmy for his new cars and help along the way, Kizzy for the Patrol, Sam for physics, Dode for incar stuff and pictures, Dippy for website management, and to Tytey, Allsorts, Moza, Karl, BangerNation and Snakie for pictures, plus anyone else I've missed. All really appreciated guys.

If you want to help out or get involved, head on over to the new section of my forum for more information

    Enjoy

Windows 8 or 7? Card details?

This is one of the major problems we are facing currently, game is so old now that its starting to have issues with new drivers and machines. You're not the first to have this problem though so might be able to help fix it.
And yea its 100% free other than 1 league on a sunday night which has a members fee to pay for the server. Every other league is free to join and race.
