I thought it best I start a new tracking making thread for the Cops and Robbers mod I will be working on for the next 6 weeks to get Mod ready for the Cops and Robbers mod online Saturday, Aug 27 event.

Here my first new startpoints for C&R mod. I use the Lawnmower track map for this one:



Just outside the derby pit, there a lot of solid cars and buses the robbers can use to their advantage. But further out, I found most trees are ghost trees. I will have do some research on how make most them trees solid.

I did put a few cops and robbers in the derby pit. Will put in some ramps so players can get in and out of derby pit area.

It was suggested to me I take a look at the Sandpit 3 track and see if it would work for a Cops and Robbers maps. I think it could work but would need some work. Outside the track area there a lot trees not down at ground level, the trees are floating ( Bugbear has not finish the whole track map yet  ;) ).  I could just have the players stay inside the track, but in testing, it was easy to get confuse which side the track is the inside part.  :P

I could lay down a bunch of logs to surround the track. But with out a 3D track editor like the Blender Flatout 2 track editor, it would take me awhile to do and be a pain in the butt doing it by hand with Bagedit. So for now I will hold off making C&R startpoints for the Sandpit 3 track map.

But Bagedit sure beat doing custom startpoints with a hex editor that I used for earlier versions of the Cops and Robbers mod!!  :D

I place some ramps today. There 2 ramps to use to jump a car out of the derby area and 4 ramps to jump in. Can you pick out the 4 ramps to jump in? ( click on pic to make it bigger )

Was testing Cops and Robbers arena online Thursday night with Zeb and he suggested I put in a wedge that the narrow robber cars could get through, but cop cars like the Sedan would have trouble. Here what I came up with tonight:



There many possible escape routes for the robbers in this corner of the Cops and Robbers arena to use, but few routes for the cops to use.  :P

ooooooo well this sounds interesting, i hope they add support for server sided auto mod downloading so you get a bigger player base on this when people host it online. Thanks for making this awesome gamemode! :)

You got thank WorldofBay for the Cops and Robbers gamemode. It his tweaked gamemode files that make it possible to do a Cops and Robbers mode.

Me, I'm just making some track maps to play C&R on with some great help from the Wreckfest community here in the forum.   :)

Thanks to elements109 and his gas barrel mod and a little tweaking of the tntbarrel files, we got a nuke barrel in the Cops and Robbers Mod.  :D  Thanks element!  :D





I do hope the explosion don't crash anybody WF game. But I do get over 100 FPS with the Speedway track, so I hope others will have high FPS and can handle the explosion. Don't worry, the explosion is all eye candy ( blinding ), will not destroy your car.  ;D But if a copper chasing a robber into the danger zone, you might want to where some shades!  8)

Here the settings I tweaked in the explosion.fxbp file:



I started with the Size Range setting. A setting of x 50, I lost my explosion. I settle on using x 40 and y 1. This got me a big explosion, but I wanted bigger!

Then I decided to try tweaking the Lifetime Min Range. I started off doubling the x and y number until I got to x 4.8 and y 8. That got me a huge explosion, so I called it good.  :D

Thanks to The Very End and Mazay, we now have a spinner in the Cops and Robbers arena map!!  :D Big Thanks guys!!  :D

After I saw End post about the spinner he made working with Mazay, I sent off a PM to Mazay asking him if he could make me a shorter version with a wedge shape to it, so spinner be more likely knock the cars up into the air, instead of trying hit a home run with the cars.

Here some pics of the danger zone. There only one way in and one way out. Got get pass the gas bottle rockets, killer cones and the spinner to get to the out ramp.








My anger bird driver got Piss after the front-end of his car got mangled by a gas bottle rocket!!






Zeb has given me an idea of how use the spinner in a different way.  ;) Stay tune, see if I get it to work.

After a long night of tweaking and testing and tweaking and testing some more, I got a 3 gas bottle rocket launcher to work about 90% of the time when you launch the single trigger gas bottle rocket at it ( sometimes the 3 gas bottle rockets don't make it out of launcher and explode early :( ). Then the 3 gas bottle rockets take off across the C&R arena floor to the other side of the arena.  :)  You don't want be T-bone by one of these rockets!!

No pics, you going have to wait until Monday test to try the rocket launcher out. Late Monday for you euro guys. I will try and shoot for noon Monday pacific time. Don't expect beta release any sooner.  :P

I will be uploading beta version of Cops and Robbers mod in less 6 hours from now. Working on the C&R startpoints for Cops and Robbers arena. Been pulling an all niter to get the Cops and Robbers arena ready.

I got the Cops and Robbers arena pretty much done now except for some Ad signs. Today added the gauntlet ( think Clint Eastwood movie ), watch out for spinner land sharks. :O












I was testing out some other vertical spinners and one the test went badly!!  :o

Time to update Cops and Robbers mod for the next Saturday Night Mods night, Saturday September 8.

Got get all the things in the Speedway 2 arenas working well again and swap in the current version of Sandpit 2 and clean it up. Get rid spectators, rails and their collision walls and any auto resets areas.

And maybe do a new pit on one the new tracks if I got time.

This past week, I got to work on fixing the Sandpit 2 C&R map. With final version of Wreckfest I ran into missing pink textures:



So had to swap in current version of Sandpit 2 again. Hopefully for the last time.  :P  But with current version, there to much "stuff", track not robber friendly:



So I did some weeding, got rid all them spectators, rails and collision boxes, barriers, some tents, ghost cars and remove some rocks so it a little safer to free roam the map.  :)

I did add some objects that are mini robber friendly. The mini can squeeze through, big cop car might not make it!

I added some sand hills and flames to spice up the inner oval C&R map. The mini can take advantage of the sand hills a bit.  ;)
