Title: The first playable version of Stuntfest out!
Post by: Janne Suur-Näkki on October 07, 2016, 06:20:13 PM

We’re beyond thrilled to let you know that the very first playable Early Access version of our new game Stuntfest is now available for all our pre-order customers! It comes with three different characters, each with their own vehicle, a mix of unique events put together by us and a level editor with a ton of objects with which you can create your own off-the-wall events.

Bear in my mind that since it’s still early there are many planned features missing from the game and there’s a good chance that you will encounter a bug or two while playing. Nevertheless, most of the core features of the game, including the in-game editor with save and load functionality as well as Steam Workshop support for easy downloading and sharing of user creations, is already in-place, so we figured it would be great to let you check out the game already in its early state and give you a chance to give feedback. Enjoy the ride, and don’t forget to let us know what you think!

To celebrate the Early Access launch, we’re running a very special limited-time offer on Stuntfest: just $9.99 gives you an access to the first playable build RIGHT NOW! Of course you’ll also receive the finished game when it’s done as well as all the incremental updates in-between. Please note that for the time being the game is only available for purchase on our own pre-order site, so to take advantage of this awesome offer point your browser to our pre-order page (http://www.wreckfestgame.com/stuntfest) and start playing!

If you’ve already pre-ordered the game you will receive an email from us, detailing how to access your game key and activate it on Steam. In case you’re not receiving the email, please don’t hesitate to contact us at support@bugbeargames.com with the details of your order, and we’ll sort it out.

Oh, and in case you haven’t heard about Stuntfest yet, it’s our new vehicle-based physics playground that will enable you to create your own mischievous levels using the easy-to-use in-game editor and then trying to accomplish all sorts of crazy ragdoll stunts with a choice of vehicles ranging from mobility scooters to shopping carts. In short, the game brings back the fun of ragdoll minigames and combines it with an easy-to-use editor, allowing for total creativity!

Pre-order Stuntfest now and start playing!

Build 6 yadda yadda again?

More 'the whole of NCG's development yadda yadda'. Or are we starting to specialise in ignoring the glaring problems with this whole thing, Engi?

Janne had time to make this huge post pushing their next thing, yet not enough to answer the questions from various forum members. This whole thing is crooked as it gets.

You already turned the other Stuntfest Feedback thread into an offtopic hell with your negativity. We get it, you dislike the whole idea behind splitting Wreckfest into another game and you think Bugbear doesn't read your posts anyway. In that case, why do you even bother filling every single topic on this forum with your negativity instead of just leaving the users actually use the topics for what they're intended to be?

Stop your unnecessary off-topic spam please. He asked for feedback about the game, so please talk about that and not about the personal problems you have with him, Bugbear or anyone else.

This is the last time this will be tolerated. If you have problems with him, you better make a separate topic for that or send him a private message.

Now, to finally have a topic being used for what it's intended to be used: Though I haven't had the chance to play Stuntfest just yet, I think the very low price tag is very reasonable. If people complain about the games being split, then so be it. But, even if it is the same engine, they're COMPLETELY different games, so there would be no way to make them one game without having it look weird. It also looks quite interesting in terms of gameplay, being literally a game version (with several levels, high scores, etc.) of the old sneak peek which went viral. So it might actually bring users back to playing Bugbear's games! It doesn't have much content yet and I feel right now there's almost no point in actually doing good other than having stunts look awesome because it just doesn't feel any rewarding, but the basic idea looks fun and the map editor and workshop support are definitely a must for this game!

Right now, while I love the fact that the driver can be shot out of the car like in the old FlatOut times, it seemed rather useless too, probably because it feels like the car is more important now due to the great deform physics. Which makes Swede and Granny pretty useless in my opinion, but sure why not :D

Other than that I can't currently say much more about the game unfortunately. But I will definitely try it soon!

I'm excited.  Price seems fair too.  Just need a Wreckfest news update to put that last bit of hesitation to rest.

Do we know how long the $10 deal is up for?

The only one that seems to have personal problem with someone atm is you. But what do I know about that ;)

Just a question, cant Brian say what he think here or should we all just shut the fuck up and say this is like a dream with rainbows and all?

Sneak peek technology demo was stand-alone. The Santa Jump was stand-alone too, even though Santa's mower derby was part of Wreckfest.
I get the impression that Stuntfest was long-planned and possibly being developed alongside Wreckfest, at least after the ROMU upgrade was complete, and Santa Jump was just a little taste of Stuntfest.

They may have decided to introduce Stuntfest early to bring in revenue that will help them complete Wreckfest.
If that is true, then Wreckfest purchasers are actually benefiting from the development and sales of Stuntfest, too. Even if they don't like or buy Stuntfest themselves.

Bugbear has said they plan to have both games final in 2017, so I am patiently waiting.

Maybe we'll get a Halloween seasonal car & driver for Stuntfest in the next update, and Santa will return for Xmas.  :)

/I agree with Devin.  Janne asked for feedback; not your opinion of the value of feedback. Just sayin'.

You have no right to remove negative posts when I make clear reference to the topic, whether partially or entirely - just in case you need it spelling out I made reference to the request for feedback. It is not within your remit to censor forum users because you have the power to do so. If you have a personal issue with me (which I know you do), then you need to be professional and speak to me about it, not wave your willy about on the forum because it makes you feel like more of a man.

Also, if others chime in with negativity, then that hardly makes my statements and opinions incorrect now, does it?

And it has been stated many times, if you actually read, it's not the splitting I'm against. I will not go into detail (again) because it has been said and actually agreed with several times. Also, just because someone doesn't listen the first, second, third, tenth time it doesn't mean you should stop fighting for what you feel is right. Stop being a fool, like those who blindly defend No Man's Sky and microtransactions.

Orb and Sam are the only moderators here worth a damn, because they spend less time censoring and more time doing what they were given moderator status to do - deal with the bots spamming the forum.

IMHO, the clear reference you made tends to discourage feedback by stating that it is a waste of time. It's the antithesis of the topic.

"Don't give feedback" in a feedback thread.   LOL

I didn't say don't, I said 'why bother?'. It's totally valid.

There's something missing from the game. I guess that feeling comes from lack of sounds and music. It doesn't feel like I'm playing Flatout style minigames because when the ragdoll is launched, it feels so silent.

That's very small thing but it makes huge difference. The whole atmosphere changes when you add the launch "waaaaaaaaa" and crowd cheering effect.

Current empty silent field doesn't feel right.

I'm curious about this, too, because I'm not buying Stuntfest if the next Wreckfest update is not substantial enough (or the price goes up by the time the Wreckfest update comes out).
