What mystery fans want in a mystery project
« on: July 08, 2012, 06:12:45 PM »
I'll tell you what are working for. Working hard its not enough! You made what you love. So you work on a new game of the series like flatout, rally trophy or a mix of flatout1 and 2 under a new name.
If I already have the possibility to express my wish, then here.

- the game must have the havok physics engine like bevor, real collisons with objects but objects like a fance, not buildings
- adjustment for arcade and realism but not simulation
- online support like in NFS Hot Pursuit the autolog system, online gaming is very important in our times
- racing for points or records, but not a ranking for during the time you play
- mini games, to play with my niece and for kids
- 12 player online in race  and more
- No motion blur and other blemishes
- Stock cars, rally cars
- Unable to cheat in the game, in fo2 can everybody cheat
- Repetition of the race
- Support for headset
- Tuning of the car during the race, or bevor starting
- race with and without contact, for clean driver and derby player
- derby destruction
- a editor to build my owm rally- stockcar on the performance/charakter of a choosen standart car
- team play in online duel or clans

Hold on the games that made you famous in racing action.

Nope. Only stock and rally cars will be stupid and boring! Seriously, In old FlatOuts there're a lot opf different and cool cars! I think that Bugbear should to save this way.

A lot good suggestions in your list. :)

But the " Tuning of the car during the race, or bevor starting " might be a bad idea. Would make racing game more sim like and open the game to more cheating on the PC side.

Offtopic, About the trucks. Purple - trucks should be slow, otherwise they would just be heavy op cars ;) But i still like the trucks in the foj mod...
I have created a event with the vanilla truck, and it´s fun going slow i promise :)

Hi Miau btw!
- the game must have the havok physics engine like bevor, real collisons with objects but objects like a fance, not buildings
Yeah
Quote
- adjustment for arcade and realism but not simulation
Yeah
Quote
- online support like in NFS Hot Pursuit the autolog system, online gaming is very important in our times
As long as they don´t use gfwl
Quote
- racing for points or records, but not a ranking for during the time you play
Yes yes and yes, no shitty level system. Racing should be about the players skills, not about the amount of time he/she have played.
Quote
- mini games, to play with my niece and for kids
Meh, i don´t think i would use it.
Quote
- 12 player online in race  and more
I don´t like messy race, so i have no need for 12 players... but maybe i would start to love the messy driving and i guess the derby would be better with 12.
Quote
- No motion blur and other blemishes
yea
Quote
- Stock cars, rally cars
Meh
Quote
- Unable to cheat in the game, in fo2 can everybody cheat
At least make it harder to cheat.
Quote
- Tuning of the car during the race, or bevor starting
Meh
Quote
- race with and without contact, for clean driver and derby player
Clean players will find clean players...
Quote
- a editor to build my owm rally- stockcar on the performance/charakter of a choosen standart car
Or better, a track editor!

I add one...
- No matchmaking (sure you could have it there, if i still have the opportunity to host my own server).

Agree, no matchmaking!

A host list or a tournament list ( like GRID) has work well online. Matchmaking has not.

************************************************************

I think 12 players a good number for online racing. Take GRID racing the touring cars where it bumper to bumper racing. there the top 4 players fighting for first, then there the 4 players in the middle trying to catch up with the leaders and the last 4 players trying not to finish last. No matter what group your in, in that race, you got someone to race against. :)

It always funner racing with someone on your bumper waiting for you to screw up or in the case of GRID derby racing, player on your bumper trying to pit you. Or trying to catch the player in front of you. With 12 players online, most races everybody get some good racing in.

And when it come to figure 8 racing, you need to have 10-12 players and 8 laps to have a rip roaring good time ( GRID derby racing ). Eight players not enough.

Thanks for the list of things you want to see in our next game. Keep them coming, we're listening!

Most of Bugbear are currently on summer holiday as am I but we will definitely go through your list at our next game design meeting when we're back at the office.
