How to add cars from Flatout UC to Flatout 2 ?

Heddly might be able tell ya. But I think not, since the UC cars had some extra stuff added.

Also, almost all the UC cars are Flatout 2 cars, redone for UC. So what UC cars would you want to put into FO2?

I want to add the Grinder and the Bonecracker as extra cars, and maybe some redone models like the Insetta Sport or the Canyon... if it is possible. I also seen in the Flatout2 Real Mod 3.0 that the Lentus got the UC modell with the skins.

If you look in the unpacked fouc data\cars\car# , the tire.bgm and other "shared files" are now in both of the car_# and shared folders.

Also the shared files have an added #_normal.dds file. The skin#.dds have a normal and specular .dds textures.

If someone could use the Zmodeler 2 SDK to extract the models and textures that would be great. Theoretically all you would need is the skin#.dds which has the alpha channel to use in FO2.

With the normal and specular textures included in the files maybe a Wreckfest car would look really good. {crossing fingers}

Thx, I tested the downloads and there was no virus, but I had one last question, how do I add the models into Fo2? I'm also new to flatout modding, thats why I ask so many questions.

I downloaded the Lentus from the site and found that the file needs a lot of work to get it into the FO2 game.

The Poly count is too high for FO2, 20 k is the limit

The part names need to be sorted and renamed and assigned to proper textures

The interior texture needs to be remapped

I couldn't get google to translate that link on my pc.

When I converted cars I started with a stock FO2 setup, a car that matched with just the necessary parts needed by the game and then add as much as i could of the other car until I reached the 20k limit. You can delete parts that players won't see in the game if needed. Good luck.
