One Make Endurance Event - The Sequel Event Thread

After the success that was the first endurance event (the only one I thought was going to happen), we had a long chat in TeamSpeak and there is demand for another one, sooner rather than later.

Please note that this will also be going up on BenDover's NCG group, so if you enter there, your name will be put down both here and in the announcement.

The Important Details:
Date - 7th February 2015
Start Time - 7:00pm GMT
Car - European Coupe C146. All other settings are up to the driver
Track - Tarmac Forward
Approximate Run Time - 60 minutes
Laps - 68

Rules & Guidelines
No Intentional Contact - this is a long race, so this is more important than ever. As I said before, no-one wants a limping car for the majority, or even half, of the race.
Lapped Cars - please hold your line. A car moving in a straight line is easier to pass than one swerving over to one side of the road. Please be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Drivers Lapping Others - if you catch a car who is to be lapped on a bend, please allow the driver to exit the turn before attempting to pass, unless there is ample room to do so. Please be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Resetting - can only be done once your car has come to rest for 5 seconds. If you receive another push while counting down the 5 seconds, you need to start over. Drivers coming to a stuck/upside down car that is on the racetrack, please path your way around it.
Keep Calm - you have 68 laps to race through, and it will not be won on the first corner of the first lap. Please be courteous and careful when navigating the first two bends on the first lap. There is no rush, you have plenty of time to catch the guys over which you have a speed advantage.
Carry On - crashes and accidents happen, and if it does happen on lap 24, the race is still far from over. Pick yourself up, carry on and report any grievances to me at the end of the race. Don't take revenge, it's not worth it.

Upon Finishing:
Once you finish, I would like you to take note of the number of laps you have completed if you have not completed all 54 laps. You can simply put it in Steam chat, send them to me through Steam, or via PM on thse forums. If you DNF, then you may leave the lobby if you so desire, but please do ensure you record how many laps you finished so I can collate them and make a final scoreboard with as much detail as possible. We will be using TeamSpeak, so you can stay and chat after you have DNF'd. Steam group chat will also be available, but if you are the only one out, you'll have no-one to speak to.

TeamSpeak:
Ben has kindly allowed us to use his TeamSpeak server. If you have gone out of the race, please do not take the opportunity to troll/annoy people who are still racing. I'm pretty sure we are a mature group, but I just want to lay down that single rule. Chatting is optional, you can sit in there with your mic muted and race, but be aware that there will still be conversation between other drivers. If you don't fancy joining us in TeamSpeak, then I suggest putting on a Podcast to listen to, or some music, but please ensure you are at least in Steam group chat so we can get organised prior to the race.

I'm down. 6th or 7th would be preferred, likely wouldn't be able to make 30th.

I also wrote it on the Steam site (sorry for double posting :)). For me the 6th or 7th Feb would work.

sign me up..
any weekend is fine.. fridays ill only be available from about 20.00 gmt..
I've added something to the OP for a Friday race. I can't guarantee I'll even be able to make a 7pm start on Friday, so if Friday is the choice, then the start will be 8pm GMT.

List updated.

Last time I drived half of time alone. It was boring to me.

I still suggest tarmac (both directions) or gravel (fwd only). Those have slower avg speed and poor luck with lapping won't be disaster.

I can understand you, I was "alone" too, but I dident care, that happens in racing becuse everyone progress different then others :)

The map choice, I like, I like the "close combat" on Tarmac and Gravel, alright its hard to lap or even overtake but then you need to be thinking befor overtaking or lapping, and it will be more intense, but I am up for everymap !

I have start to do "long lap races" on my server, I just did 30 laps or Gravel and Tarmac! Only coupe so ppl can train the coupe for the next endurance race !! :) I will do this tomorrow too ! I start playing 6 laps on all tracks, when I got some ppl in who play fair (today it was much chaos...).... But anyway, then I suggested 30 lap on gravel and we had like 15 players on both map who wanted to play, thats really good anyway :)

Just need to drive a little slower, then will have players lapping you. ;)

Prefer Saturday, Saturdays race day for me, but I could make the other dates.
